Be it to have it...

As we’re still getting back into the swing of things after a lovely holiday in the sun, we’re going to keep this week’s blog post short and sweet. And, however tempting it is, not wax lyrical about the sunshine, blue skies and lack of wet stuff (!).
Moving swiftly on…
It’s easy to forget that everything starts with us. We get to choose what we desire – and what we definitely don’t (!) – and it all starts with our imagination.
“Yes, I’d love to have that.”
“No, I definitely don’t want the other.”
And that applies to whether we do – or don’t – want whatever it is. The process is exactly the same.
In other words, it’s all about where we consistently put our attention.
So, really it’s quite simple. Well, in theory, not always in practice (!).
Whatever you desire, just keep imagining – and feeling – what it will be like to have it. Get into the habit of cultivating it every day. Make it your focus. Then, simply act as if you already had it.
If you desire to live in a kinder world, imagine what it would be like to live in such a world. Feel it in your innermost being and then radiate it out to the world. Act as you would if you already lived in that world. Treat yourself – very important (!) – and others in exactly this way. Look for all the little kindnesses that are already there – and you probably wouldn’t have noticed if you hadn’t been looking for them – as you go about your day. It really is that simple and works on whatever you consistently focus on. It’s up to you to choose what it is, positive or less so…
And there’s an added bonus.
By giving out whatever it is you desire, it will come back to you even quicker – and in greater amounts – than you could possibly have imagined. It’s known as the law of reciprocity. Whatever you give out comes back to you. And you may like to stop for a minute and mull that one over…
So, if there’s something you really desire, then find a way of giving it to others, even when it hasn’t already come into your life. And this applies to everything, whether it’s a kinder world or something more material.
If you’d like a kinder world, be kind to others. For people to help you, help others. Or for more understanding, being more understanding to others.
If you’d like more money – regardless of how much you’ve got now – focus on what you do have. Spend it with thanks, rather than grudgingly or worrying that there won’t be enough. And this particularly applies to all those bills and other things you’d rather not be paying (!). Be grateful for whatever it is and, as you pay them, have the thought that as money goes out more will come in. Yes, it can be a bit of an imaginative stretch at times (!) but it does work, if you let it.
As always, the choice is yours.
